Where in the World Did you Get That Shirt?
Gone are the days when a large number of Americans made their own clothes. In actuality, gone are the days when Americans make any clothes. With cheap transportation and lower labor cost most U.S. companies are manufacturing their product in foreign countries. In this modern Society, the clothes on our backs have traveled from countries most of us will never visit.
Look in your closets, and check the labels of your favorite clothes. On a separate sheet of paper write the manufacturing location of each item of clothes. Create a chart similar to the one below. Please list at least twenty clothing items. All items mentioned do not have to be your own; they can be a spouses or a child’s.
